Technorati Glitch Want to be ranked #1?

Date August 5, 2007

Technorati has a glitch that every blog can be ranked #1. Technorati has been usefull for some bloggers just because some programs like reviewme and pay per post programs use technorati to rank their pages. If your rank is higher in technorati you can sell higher (in price) for the advertisers.

This glitch can teach many advertisers and companies that offers this kind of ranking is not accurate, do not use technorati or alexa. Pagerank is one of the most valuable ranking systems. With alexa you can also cheat their system, how? easy, just go to every network cafe in your town or city and download the alexa toolbar then add the your site as a default. Now every customer in that cafe will see your site with the alexa toolbar and in few days your alexa ranking will be jump. You can also use any autosurf program add your site and you are done, few days your alexa ranking is up.

But how this could affect your site? Simple, your pagerank will be affected, Google hates autosurf or what is called trash traffic (like autosurfs).

It seems that the technorati glitch, has been fixed. But many bloggers like Johnchow and stevesblogen adesblog get this “evil” opportunity to update their reviewme statistics. You can call it evil or cheating in anyways in my opinion is wise, I noticed that they used custom price but still the five stars in the technorati will get a good impression.

Congratulations for those evil / cheaters bloggers that took this opportunity to update their reviewme ranks :D

Edited: Steve tech blog has its normal ranking in reviewme & johnchow still have number 1 in reviewme.

    I’m back to 4 stars ;)
Also, by using custom pricing, I kept my normal price all along the bug. Still it was nice while it lasted

    Thank for mentioning me :D

    Hey steve!
That was nice and honest to make a custom normal price ;) and not taking advantage of this. Everyone should make this at least they respect their advertiser.

I know because I do advertising and would hate this. I don’t have a big budget and every cents count.

I do not use ReviewMe, moreover I would not trick people to advertise on my blog.

Even the PageRank doesnt tell much about traffic.

Yes you are right webmaster money, but is more like “reputation” in google (which is the biggest search engine and is worth to work based on that) another note, is that neither alexa or technorati tells you about the traffic (the exact) it can be like approximation (but how accurate the approximation is?)
