About registerfly

We found a member that bought from registerfly and got scammed, here his experience about registerfly:
Hello!
I found registerfly.com from the e-gold directory; their website looked week, so I decided to register a domain name and to rent a VPS with them.
Big, enormous mistake: I have been scammed of $179 and lost a lot of time! This message on the e-gold discussion list has 3 goals:
1- Warn e-gold that they are promoting incompetence and scam
2- Warn potential users
3- Try to sell my registerfly account at a discounted price, if some people are brave enough to work with them. The facts
I registered a DN and paid by e-gold. All has been done correctly, no claim here.
About one month later, I purchased a VPS and decided to pay one year up-front. I paid $179 by e-gold. The VPS was supposed to be setup “between half an hour and 3 hours”.
After 24 hours, I opened a ticket and asked news. The reply was “That will be done in a few hours”.
After 48 hours, I opened a ticket and asked news. The reply was “That will be done in a few hours”.
After 72 hours, I opened a ticket and asked news. The reply was “That will be done in the next working day”.
After 96 hours, I opened a ticket and asked news. The reply was “That will be done in a few days”. Registerfly explained that they are “setting up a new VPS” to “improve the quality of my website”!
After 120 hours, I opened a ticket and asked news. The reply was “That will be done in a few days”. (Exactly the same message than earlier)
In the same time, 24 hours after I paid for my VPS, I tried to change the DNS of my domain, as I wanted it to work on the VPS, of course. I also decided to use their “free privacy service” for the domain. I submitted the changes from the registerfly interface, and received a nice message like “It should take up to 3 to 5 hours for the changes to be done”.
48 hours after I paid the VPS, I checked the domain name: Nothing was changed. New ticket, and a nice reply from a clever man “I can see the changes have been done”. Maybe they have a special WHOIS? I checked again, nothing was done.I submitted the changes once more (in the registerfly interface, the OLD settings were there, so I really don’t know how the registerfly support could see that the changes were done!). And waited again 24 hours to open a new ticket and receive the same reply “Changes have been done for the DNS, BUT privacy service cannot be used in your BIZ domain”.
Ok for the privacy service, but maybe they could tell this on their webpage… Well… And DNS were not changed, of course.
So after a total of 120 hours, I decided to cancel my VPS and asked a refund. I also decided to transfer the DN after the 60 days delay will be passed.
Registerfly replied in the ticket “We cancelled your VPS and refunded you TO YOUR REGISTERFLY INTERNAL ACCOUNT”. I kindly explained them that I want a REAL refund in my e-gold account, as I paid directly from my E-GOLD account for a service they NEVER supplied (the VPS). Then, no reply. I opened 2 new tickets, they replied “Don’t open new tickets, your request is in process”. I decided to write anyway again every day, telling them how I consider their great company!
After a total of 10 days, the billing service told me “no, no refund unless into the registerfly internal account as we already did it”. They probably think that I will again TRY to work with such idiots and order services that I won’t receive.
The result is that I have now lost a domain name as I cannot modify anything inside (DNS especially) before moving it to another registrar, and I have lost $179 as I don’t want for sure deal again with such idiots.
Trying to recover my money, if some brave people want deal with the registerfly idiots, I will sell my account for $150. There is, inside, $179.41 exactly. The DN will be moved to another registerfly account so I can later transfer it.
About e-gold: I know that all transactions are final, but e-gold should at least remove the free ad for registerfly from their directory, AND why not could put a limit on the registerfly e-gold account. I am ready to give my registerfly account login/pass to e-gold, so they can see the tickets about this scam.
Well, that’s all for now!
