E-Gold Suspended Iran’s members accounts

Date November 26, 2006

It seems that e-gold banned/suspended many/all Iran’s members egold accounts. Check this site: http://e-goldstrong.com/

To: US Treasury Dept. & (G&SR), Inc

Dear Sirs
Gold & Silver Reserve (G&SR), Inc has suspended all of Iranian accounts on 24 November 2006 without any notification. we are a group of Iranian people who are working in international markets by e-gold accounts due to lack of reliable Internet banking and high jobless in Iran. we wonder why (G&SR), Inc as a US company is fighting with Iranian people as our government is doing the same ! the tele communication company of Iran who has all the the power of Internet policies in Iran and is a governmental company blocked access to e-gold website about 1 year ago , to cut Iranian communications and businesses with the world, and now (G&SR), Inc is helping them to keep Iranian people isolated from the world. it seems we should tell to our government that they have some partners in US !
we think it is against the announced US policies , blocking the money of Iranian individuals and not to let them work and communicate with the world doesn’t help to expand democracy in Iran and gives Iran government the opportunity to advertise its anti-US policies.
we think if US wants to stay popular in Iran should not fight with Iranian people instead of Iran government , blocking the money of Iranian youths doesn’t give them a good feeling about US ! I can say 95% of these account belongs to youths below 25 years old.
if you want to do something useful , block the terrorism funds and budget. blocking the accounts of some normal people trying to work and live in this country will not help you.

WE ASK FOR IMMEDIATE ACTIVATION OF OUR ACCOUNTS BY (G&SR), Inc.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

This is a site for those iran’s accounts has been suspended. What is your opinion about it?

Hmmm. I do wonder what’s up with this. I tried doing test spends to three
of the accounts in the list, chosen at random, and all came up showing that
the account was non-existent, not just receive-limited.

I also ran a few of the IP addresses, and all but one showed it came from
Iran, so it does look like these are legitimate.

Lacking any forthcoming explanation from e-gold, I would have to say this is
reason for serious concern over the security of the e-gold system.

Given the recent publicity being promulgated by the US government that
appears to be laying the groundwork for more US military actions in the
middle east, the explanation that comes most easily to mind is that the
Federal goons who raided e-gold’s offices a few months ago have returned and
demanded this action as a condition for allowing them to stay in business –
    or even to stay alive.

The mainstream press was noticeably silent about the ramifications of the
passage last month of S. 3930, the detainee, torture, tribunal law. Most
people who even noticed its passage still think it applies only to
non-US-citizens, but that’s not correct. With that law, the president can
now convene any group of his pals who will agree with him, call them a
“tribunal”, and get them to order your “disappearance”. You would have no
constitutional rights, you could be tortured and held indefinitely, and no
one would ever know what happened to you. Obviously, they could also kill
you, and since no one would know what happened to you they would never find
your body or know you were dead.

So I’m thinking that if I were the folks at G&SR and some government goons
showed up offering me the chance to stay (for now) out of their torture
chambers, the only price being the closure of some Iranian accounts on their
list, I’d be right on that keyboard going tappety tap.

If true, this raises two burning questions for the rest of us: (1) How long
before the goons show up at my door, and what (if anything) can I do to
prevent it? And (2) Why should I continue to risk my gold under storage in
    the e-gold system?

There is, for now, something you can do about #1: There’s a system you can
use to automatically send a message to your congressional delegation
demanding the repeal of S. 3930. For #2, if I don’t see an explanation
pretty soon from e-gold to allay the above concerns, I’m thinking it might
be time to look at a system outside the clutches of the new US fascists.

I hope I’m wrong, because this is some very serious business if I’m right.

    Hello Mehdi,

I think the best solution now, is to call egold or try to find a friend that can call them and try to get a response from them.

Usually, egold don’t send notification when they want to close an account.

We are very sorry for what happen :(

    Hi
EGoldiran is one of the oldest company that provide e-gold for Iranian people, our company is located in USA (California) but most of our e-gold accounts are frozen.
When a bank close your account, they give you a notice and immediately send your money by check, but e-gold closed Iranian accounts without any notice and they also do not send money back.
It seems our next action should be a small claims court.
Maybe we get our money by the court, but who is responsible for thousands of Iranian citizen money that do not have access to court and live inside of Iran.
Who will trust to e-gold for future business and money transaction?
We wait for e-gold clear answer….
