CEP: SEC investigations continues

Date June 27, 2007

This is the last email Trevor the admin of CEP send lately today:

Hi, Everyone! :-)
We have not heard much back at this point regarding the investigation, but I did call our attorney earlier today to see whether he had an idea as to how much longer this process might take. He thinks that it may be at least a few more weeks. We are still working hard behind the scenes to do everything we can. We, too, are part of the waiting game that all of you are a part of, and I promise we do not enjoy it, either. ;-) Know that we are thinking about each of you as we do our best to work all of this out. We will update you as soon as we hear anything else. Take care and God Bless until next time!
Trevor

I think CEP will do well, but anything I could say would be pure speculation, anyways there will be newscast this Friday, so keep an eye on it! :)

    Hi Money,

There were just too many coincidences that eventually led me to my suspicion about 2 weeks ago. (The comment below is only based on my own gut feeling that I cannot get rid of. So viewers’ discretion is advised.)

I do not follow CEP issue closely; but this is roughly what happened:

CEP opened for new memberships for one week in late-March. This was when a huge influx of new money came into CEP. (People had the mentality that they did not want to “miss the boat again this time”.)

Around that time, they had already bought out DSM and 4newbies.

As far as I know, DSM, 4newbies, LucreShares invested all members’ fund in CEP. I believe TurnStyle had done the same because they had been talking about getting the return from some ‘investment’ to refund members and now they are unable to continue with the refund. Who know may be Planet Trust and many others have lost members’ money in their CEP investment as well, talking about their so-called “real investment”!!

CEPT dropped e-gold one day after the announcement of e-gold indictment (April 27). It was their opportunity to halt all the cashing out from CEPT to e-gold. The timing couldn’t be better for CEPT. (God really looked after them!)

Then around mid-May, CEP showed sign of problems with members’ accounts and on May 31, it was announced that CEP was “informally under SEC investigation”. By the way, CEP is where their big money is. Many people kept compounding for a long time (ROI is 60% monthly) and I do believe it is now in millions and millions of dollars in members’ CEP accounts.

People believe that only CEP has come to a halt. But so have Coastin88 and CEPcoasting!! The reason being, the daily return has dropped tremendously (now 0.02% to 0.16%) in C88 for many weeks now. (I don’t know about CEPcoasting). Unless you have 5 figures in your account, it is not worth your time to surf. So the matter of fact is members’ funds are stuck in these 3 sites.

People are defending that there is no problem with CEP Trust. Of course, now that they do not have to pay CEP members and the payouts in the other 2 sites continue in very minimal quantity. The transaction with the other surf sites is still operational for the time being (with much delay now), which I believe is also in very minimal quantity.

My question is if CEP indeed is under SEC investigation. (I remember the announcement came only from CEP Group itself.) Or it is just a smokescreen to hide their real intentions, such as delaying payments infinitely to buy time and eventually phase out.

Am I the only one with this disbelief?
Does anyone have any proof of the “SEC investigation” on CEP?
Why is CEP the only HYIP under SEC investigation?
It would be very interesting to confirm.

    Prove me wrong!!

WOW that is one of a kind suspicion here :)

So you are saying that CEP is not under SEC investigation? WOW I really wish that could be true.

For your information CEPCoast is doing better than ever with rates on 2%+ daily plus compound I don’t see better return than that, knowing that is PAYING since October 06.

C88 is low rates now BUT as per the last newscast (I’m quoting the C88 answer)

“What they are working on is building a safe guard system. The safe guard system will kick in during times when less advertising is being purchased. It will allow for a stable and consistent daily commission for our viewers so as to avoid all the recent fluctuations that we’ve seen. This is not something that can be built in a day, so the time frame given was basically to allow admin to work their magic without worry of disappointing members by not being able to complete this task in a short time frame.. Rest assured that the admin are working hard toward completing this quickly, but not so quickly that something is missed. Stability is far more important than a temporary quick fix.”

About SEC, YES the investigation is for real I don’t think anybody would like to fake that, besides go to CEP forum and you’ll see proof of Members contacted by the SEC about it.

Why CEP well, because is one Big site Paying since 05, this is not your regular HYIP site, nevertheless the only thing that the SEC have found them doing wrong was “selling securities” without been SEC licensed NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS.

    Hope it helps :)

    Hi Moboking,

Nowadays, admins can come up with all kinds of excuses and so can I come up with the wildest imagination. Were the members contacted by phones or e-mails from the SEC?

    JMV :)

    P.S.

Was this copy and paste from Planet Trust?

I don’t think there are enough proofs to say that CEP is under investigation. I think cep is too small at the moment to be under the radar of the “Lions” or mmm Uncle sam?

Coopersview did you received my email?

  6. Moboking said:

OK, here are some quotes from Members that have been contacted by the SEC, please bear in mind that you will NOT find anything about CEP and the SEC on the SEC site because the investigation is “informal”

“I am a new member with CEP, and wanted to let everyone know that I’ve
been contacted via e-mail by the SEC, who has contacted me for a brief
phone interview today. I answered the questions honestly and to the best of my knowledge. They are following up with a paper questionnaire.
Let’s just hope that this will all work out. Best regards.”

“My friend was new to cep in the last sign up week. He made a moderate deposit a few days before the freeze. He received the SEC email the first day others started reporting.

Today, he called, left a message. He received a call back from a woman with the SEC. She said it was just an initial investigation. She asked how he had learned about the program, had he checked it out, did he have any paperwork from CEP, did he think it was a ponzi, did he know where investments were made (He said he thought it was mostly in real estate). He answered with basic answers. He said he invested because a trusted friend had shared that it was a good opportunity and didn’t she go by advice from friends that she trusted.
She asked if he would be willing to fill out some paper work. He said yes.”

Now about C88 this go nothing to do with PT, since PT stop TAdz also, and same have happens to all the other Amins with more than one site, now with CEP this in NOT the case, CEPCoast is better than ever, that’s a BIG difference there.

I will suggest you to go by the CEP forum and read for more information or jusy visit my site and check out the CEP NewsCast with Trevor on the line:

    Thanks

    Hi Carlos,

I have just replied to your e-mail. That is very kind of you.

I would like to add something about CEP group. Why did the % drop to below 0.16% in C88 and CEPCoast stays at 2%?

My guess is number one they have much less members in CEPCoast (remember people flocked to C88 because of their much higher %); number 2 they cannot make it too obvious that all three sites are dead.

Nowadays, it is very possible to manipulate the script in any way they want to suit their need. The famous “Script Issue” huh?

    JMV
    :)

  9. money said:

The fact that “before” this issue the % was going down, then the script, then other things (I think) and now the SEC. That is too much coincidence don’t you think ?

This are the answers as per the NewsCast:

    NewsCast #6

Jorge: Yeah, we got to wait. Ok, that leads me to another question here Skye. The last update for C88 was, you know some members got confused so they keep asking, why the percentage went down the first day, I mean May 18th was 1.14%. Why, why that happened?

Skye: Even though the public announcement went out to members on the 18th, some members were aware on the 17th. These members knew that they would not be able to make any purchases in CEP which in turned caused slight panic, and we all know what happens when one person panics and tells the next person and so and so on, I mean the word of mouth just goes fast. CEP closed all means of upgrades on the 17th, late in the day when they found out about the investigations. They could not at that time explain exactly what had happened, but it was evident on the 17th to those members who tried to make deposits that some type of change had been made. This in turn is likely what caused the hesitation for some members in Coastin88 and CEPCoast.

    NewsCast #7

Jorge: We too, same from us. Well, we have more questions than last week, that’s a good sign. We’re going to get started with Skye and you know, how, you know we’re going to talk about how CEP Coast recovered so fast and what happened with C88, why is taking so much longer?

Skye: CEP Coast was able to rebound faster mostly because it had a fewer number of active ad packs. Coastin88 has many more active ad packs than Coast. However, we are starting to see the percent rise at 88, and this will continue to happen until it reaches a nice percent and finally stabilizes, just as Coast has.

This is how the our newscast works:

Members post their questions on the CEP, CEPCoast and Coastin88 forums, which are later gathered (the same week the newscast will be on) and sent to the Admins, who answer them through Pamela and Skye.

So you actually are reading the admins answer.

    Hi Moboking,

The wording on “The safe guard system” is identical to the wording from Planet Trust.
Why all of a sudden this “safe guard system” from C88 and Planet Trust? They both came up with the same new idea, didn’t they?

“Now about C88 this go nothing to do with PT, since PT stop TAdz also, and same have happens to all the other Amins with more than one site, now with CEP this in NOT the case, CEPCoast is better than ever, that’s a BIG difference there.”

I am sorry but here you are smacking your own face with your own illogical statement.

It makes sense when an admin has more than one sites, all his sites would be affected when there is problem. I can see all Jack’s sites are going downhill to rock bottom.

The abnormal thing about CEP Group is why “CEPcoast is better than ever”, EXACTLY in your own words!! Like I said above because it is nothing but show!!

Both CEPCoast and C88 are profit sharing sites. The daily ROI depends on members’ new spends. The % dropped drastically because of panic from members after CEP Trust stopped e-gold transactions (Trevor even announced that the ones that were pending would be considered lost). But why CEPCoast is not affected? It just does not add up!!

“ …….please bear in mind that you will NOT find anything about CEP and the SEC on the SEC site because the investigation is “informal””

I really wonder if there is such thing as “informal investigation” by SEC. (May be these people have too much time and tax payers’ money to spend.) OK I assume there is such thing as “informal”, then why would Trevor announce it so early and right away freeze all CEP accounts? He couldn’t wait for the formal one, could he?

Moboking: if you can get hold of a copy of the e-mail from SEC to show us, (just take out the member’s name), then I would admit that Trevor is clean.

Talking about coincidence, when an admin decides to call it quit, all kinds of weird things could happen at the same time. The most popular stories are about script issue and e-gold account blocked or even fall off a bicycle. LOL!

Thanks Moboking for providing such information. I really appreciate it as I am not a member of CEP trust (never liked payment processors that are new in the payment processor industry).

Coopersview, you forgot also the “hospital” word? :p

  13. Moboking said:

Coopersview, Please do at least your “Google Search” before replying…Thanks.

IBM Corp. announced today that it will voluntarily comply with an informal investigation by the staff of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Taser International Inc. late Thursday announced it has received an informal inquiry letter from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Allied Capital Reaches Settlement with SEC; Informal Investigation Closed.

    ————–

If it turns out that the staff’s initial suspicions do not warrant further review, the MUI can be terminated easily, but if this is not done within 60 days the SEC’s computerized case tracking system automatically escalates the MUI to the status of an “informal investigation.” At this point, private counsel usually advises the affected company that the informal investigation must be publicly disclosed — with adverse consequences for the company’s stock price–even though it may not have been based on any more information, or on any greater SEC staff consideration, than the original news article, complaint or tip that stimulated the MUI. It is important to note, however, that although the approval of a senior enforcement division official was necessary to open a MUI, no approval is necessary for a MUI to roll over into an informal investigation. Thus, informal investigations can be, and often are, opened without ever being touched by human hands; what started as a quick look for a potential violation has now become a disclosure item for the affected public company.

However, if the informal investigation now underway does not turn up violations of law or related SEC regulations, the line attorney who originally opened the MUI must spend a lot of time to terminate it–including an extensive closing memorandum that includes such things as summaries of witness interviews and recorded testimony. The line attorney has little incentive to do this promptly, so that the investigation may linger on the shelf for months, or sometimes years, while the attorney who initiated it pursues cases more likely to be productive and career-enhancing. Thus, in effect, although an investigation may have been abandoned, the company involved may not have been so advised. In fact, the enforcement division’s policy is not to advise companies concerning the termination of informal investigations–apparently for fear that the company or others will cite the termination notice as proof that they are law-abiding. It seems that no one is good enough to deserve that modest honorific.

You’re very Welcome Money, Thank you! for this opportunity.
