Weekly Wordpress Plugin: AdRotator - Ad Rotating Solution for your Ads (including AdSense, Clicksor, Chitika etc.)
August 8, 2007
Wordpress Plugins can extend WordPress to do almost anything you can imagine, in the directory you can find, download, rate, and comment on all the best plugins.
Instalation: Easy
Time to install: 0-1 Minutes. What it take time is to add the banners in the txt files
This week I choosed Adrotator wordpress plugin. It is an amazing plugin that was created by Angsuman Chakraborty by simple thoughts (listed in the author post). As I want to maximize by making money online with etalkmoney and not putting all my eggs in one basket. I was searching for a solution to add many contextual advertising (like adsense, bidvertising, adbrite, etc..) and make it randomly. Adrotator saved my problem with that. Here are some overviews about this wordpress plugin (take it from their site):
Overview
Displays an advertisement (which is randomly selected from a group of advertisements specified in a text file) at your chosen location. Tested on WordPress 1.5 & 2.x. Should work with earlier and later versions (future and past proofed). It can also be used with other CMS systems or anywhere where PHP is supported. It does one job and does it well. Enough said.
Usage
This can be used to distribute your Ads impressions between various providers and to provide variety to users. It can also be used to randomly include any other code or even to randomly display images, text messages etc. The usage is limited by your imagination only. You can also use it to display rotating advertisement within your posts or pages.
The code can be used with non-WordPress systems too.
Instalation steps:
- Download Adrotator wordpress plugin
- Upload in your wordpress directory to: wp-content/plugins/
- Go to your blog admin panel
- Go to Plugins and activate the adrotator plugin.
- Open a notepad and add each AD in a line, if you are using a multiple line advertiser (like google adsense, bidvertiser, adbrite,etc..) You need to make it in one line, deleting spaces between each line. (Easy enough).
- Save the txt file for whatever name you can called “topbanner.txt”.
- Upload topbanner.txt to wp-content folder.
- Add this code where you want to add the ads: < ?php echo getad('Ad File Name'); ?> *the “Ad File Name” is where you add the name of your txt in this case “topbanner”
Note: You can add as many txt files as you want, in etalkmoney I added two files, one for the top banner and one in each article so can randomly shows bidvertiser, google adsense and adbrite.
